Danielle O'Keefe,CD,CBE,LCCE,CLEC,SM

Here is some back ground about me. My name is Danielle O'keefe,CD,CBE,LCCE,CLEC and student midwife. I am the mother of three wonderful children: Valek-9, Reign&Aurora-3yr. I am also enjoying being a  Doula and childbirth educator, assisting familes in achieving a birth they will always love and remember for over 7 years and have attended over 250 births. I was trained to be a Doula at, "A Child is Born" in Sacramento, Ca in January 2001. There after I started, "Baby Love Childbirth Services" wanting to assist woman in regaining their strength, confidence and trust in their bodies. I also have been trained as a childbirth educator with, "A Labor of Love" through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) in San Francisco in February 2004. Currently I have been trained and certified as a certified lactation education counselor. I am a member of: Lamaze International, DONA(Doulas Of North America), CAM(California Association of Midwives) and CAPPA(Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) all are wonderful organizations I am proud to be apart of. I am also a certified Lamaze instructor, I was trained by "A Passion for Birth" through Lamaze international in Feb.2007. I am now a student of the Midwife -To-Be program to become a licensed midwife in California. I always enjoy and look forward to furthering my training and knowledge as a Doula, childbirth educator, and someday a Licensed midwife.

My birth philosophy is a simple one; I believe and trust in the body to know what to do during birth whether in the hospital or at home. I truly believe that birth is a natural process that a woman's body was made for. Birth is not an illness or something that needs to be fixed but it is one of the most important and life impacting journeys a woman will go through.

Birth is a rite of passage and every woman should have the right and hope to birth her baby gently and peacefully.

As a Doula it is always my goal to help you birth the way you want by educating and supporting you so you and your family can make informed decisions on what you want. With my support I hope to help you achieve a birth you will always cherish and remember.

Jessica Smith,LCE,SD

Hello and congratulations on your baby to be!!! My name is Jessica Smith. I am a mother to my beautiful 4 year old son Liam and a trained Child Birth Educator. I am also a member of Lamaze International and trained in Lamaze through “Passion for Birth” in February 2008. I have lived in the Yuba-Sutter area since childhood and will graduate with a Business Degree in spring 2009 from Yuba College. I am also a member of DONA (Doulas of North America) in the process of my Doula certification.

My birth philosophy is: normal, natural, and healthy. Trust in the power of your body- your inner wisdom will guide you. Take time to understand the importance of confidence and relaxation. Remember- This is your body; this is your baby; this is your birth. Just as your mother birthed you, you will be birthed again.

It is my inner most goal to help you have the most powerful, fulfilling birth possible. Whether in a hospital or at home, my goal is to support you on your path and educate you on your journey.

Sandi Phillips,CMT,Fitness Instructor

Hey Mamas and Mamas to be!  My name is Sandi Phillips.  My husband Ryan and I are expecting our first baby in October of 2008.  IT’S A BOY!!

I obtained my certification in massage in Sacramento at the Healing Arts Institute.  I am also a Yoga and fitness instructor geared towards women in all stages of pregnancy and post pregnancy.

I believe that staying healthy and physically fit is an important factor especially during pregnancy.  A healthy, flexible body along with a clear, calm mind are the tools that you will want to be able to call on during labor and birth, when it is important to release tension, relax muscles, and remain calm.

I found that by doing yoga and pilates throughout my pregnancy I remained fairly comfortable, and feeling good about the changes my body was going through.  I feel confident in my abilities as a woman to deliver my son, while remaining focused and strong.

My goal is to provide the same techniques I use and trust to women looking to experience birth in the most positive was possible.

“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers-strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”
-Barbara Katz-Rothman
